Besser machinery has earned the reputation for providing dependable
production. The mechanical design provides precise, deliberate operation.
This, combined with rugged construction, creates machinery that lasts and
lasts. There are Besser customers, running V3Ms manufactured in the 1940s,
who are producing top quality concrete masonry units on a daily basis.
Electronics technology has changed rapidly over the last 30 years. The
suppliers who made the original parts used by Besser are now either
producing new models or have shifted focus to other product lines.
Components used in the 1970s and 1980s are obsolete. Besser no longer has
reliable sources for these parts.
The most economical replacement method is to upgrade to the new style Allen-Bradley
components. New electrical components such as Allen-Bradley SLC™-500s (small logic controllers), color graphics displays, circuit
breakers, encoders and motor starters will greatly improve equipment
controls reliability. The extent of the upgrade will depend on the type of
controls currently installed.
Plan ahead to insure smooth transitions to new controllers. Order the
necessary retrofit now and eliminate the possibility of costly down time
due to development time needed to write new programs. Besser staff is
prepared to assist you in determining which option is best for your plant.
