The
Best Way to Split Return Corners
Splitting return
corners? What is the best way?
May we suggest using a
mold with three 8" (200 mm) and splitting off a stringer with the
larger splitter (S63) A, then splitting the return corner with
the Quiksplit II B. This allows the Quiksplit to split the
16" (400 mm) face.
Another way is to make
a thicker than 2" (50 mm) end slab. This will assure a good end
split. It has been our experience that trying to split a 2 x 8 x 8 end
face will not give satisfactory results.
If you are running an
end split, where you throw away a 2" (50 mm) slab, you might try
splitting the throw-away with the S63 A and the 16" (400 mm)
length on the Quiksplit II B, you will probably need a turntable
for this.
